| What are my options for engraving firearms without spending $15K on a laser engraver? The only requirements is that the results are neat and repeatable. |

Since I expect you aren't interested in artistic engraving, you have the choice of finding a pantograph, a CNC rig, or using electroetching.
Electroetching produces very nice results, this is the process you see on most custom knives to add the maker's mark. This is likely the best pantograph you could possibly buy: http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb/machinery-sale-wanted/deckel-pantograph-205414/ Another good choice is a Hermes. Look to Industrial Hobbies for a low cost CNC mill, basically the heaviest of the RF 45 type bench mills. |
