I'm planning on duracoating a brand new stripped upper and lower receiver and a DD quad rail...other than cleaning and degrease is any other prep work needed?

They recommend that you clean/degrease with TruStrip; some people use brake cleaner.  The instructions also say:
...we recommend blasting with aluminum oxide, sand as a second choice.  Blasting is not required.  Glass bead blasting is not recommended...  If you do not have access to basting equipment, simply "rough up" the surfaces with a scotch brite pad...

I would just degrease well and then paint.
