I am looking for some pointers/advice on how to properly prep for applying Duracoat.
I am currently building up a few lowers from 80%'s and plan to anodize and Duracoat coat them. My question is with the stripped uppers that I have purchased to use in the builds, I would like to final coat the lowers and uppers together so they match, so: - How far do I need to strip the pre-finished stripped uppers (DPMS if it matters) if at all? Reading Duracoat FAQ's they suggest either coating a blasted part, anodized/parkerized or other base metal treatment. Do I need to strip the coating off of the upper down to the manufacturer metal treatment or do they need to be blasted and re-anodized? Thanks for the help |

I can't answer your question, but if you go to their site, there is a place to ask an online advisor. They respond pretty quickly. I would try there if you don't get what you need here.
As far as them matching, as long as you paint them at the same time, they should match. Providing you get both parts completely covered, what's underneath shouldn't matter color wise. |
