I've been using TTI Armory's 170gr round nose subsonic rounds for my 16 1/4" Savage Model 10 with YHM Phantom suppressor, but am running low on them and TTI went out of business. So, I now find myself needing a replacement. At the latest gun show, I was talking to a local licensed ammo manufacturer about having them make me a custom batch of subsonic .308. The guy behind the table asked me to call him later this week to discuss it with him. I was hoping to have a good base from which to start the conversation, such as bullet weights and powder loads which will work properly.
Unfortunately, I haven't had the room in the house for a reloading set up of my own. So, until I can do so, I'm stuck having to either buy factory stuff or having to find someone to load for me. Factory subsonic .308 can be hard to find and rather costly when it can be found (not to mention shipping charges for the 1-2 boxes I could afford to buy at a time). So, if I can get him to load me something that works effectively, at a reasonable price, I can continue having fun with my rifle and can.
