I have a Canon Rebel T1i SLR camera.
What I need is an online source for a 35mm-55mm adapter. I have a 35mm SLR camera adapter for my PVS14 night vision unit but I need to go up to 55mm to attach it to the camera, obviously. So, I have the camera. I have the NV unit with 35mm SLR adapter. How do I make up the difference? Links to a reputable online dealer's product would be greatly appreciated. Cliff Notes: A: I have one of these.
B: I also have one of these.
C: Finally, my camera is a one of these for Christmas.
I want to use C to take pictures using A. B is supposed to be the first step in that equation. Now I need the Missing Link, D, to get me from 35mm-55mm, as I understand it. My Camera-Fu is weak. , so I'm unsure of the terminology. I know some here use their PVS14s to take pictures with their SLR cameras, so I figured I might get more help here than in the photography forum. Thanks in advance.

You just need the proper step up/down ring or rings to get you there.
Check B&H Photo or Adorama.
For my 58mm LenMate that couples to the G7, I used a 58-52mm step down ring, and then a 52-46 step down ring. I don't know if they make a 55-46 ring, they may. Anyway, it's easy to use this way, rigidly coupled to the camera. Here, a quick search revealed this part! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/98902-REG/General_Brand_55_46_55mm_46mm_Step_Down_Ring_Lens.html |

Now I know ! My night vision camera skills are well known for being VERY poor.I have always been camera challenged in life.

My night vision camera skills are well known for being VERY poor.I have always been camera challenged in life. ![]() It's been a struggle, to tell the truth. My Olympus E-1 DSLR wasn't very good with the PVS-14. The two just don't seem that compatible, sharp photos are very difficult. And on it, the 4X max mag on the viewfinder doesn't let you verify focus. The little G7 Canon works pretty well, however. It's good that it has the ring for accessory lens so you can actually attach the pair (using the lensmate). It does video pretty well also. I am looking to buy another camera fairly soon, DSLR or maybe one of the new Micro 4/3 models (which strike me as ideal for use with the 14). But feedback on use with a NV monocular like the PVS-14 does not exist. Really looking forward to any users experiences and I hope we get some feedback on use with that Canon above. |

Thanks for the help. As soon as I get my hands on the parts in question, I'll post a link to some NV pics with the Canon. Really looking forward to this, like I said, I'll be makiing a DSLR decision soon. My needs aren't that great, but I do have some nice Olympus 4/3 glass, so that may be a factor but a potential E-5 is probably a year away. |

It's probably not what you're looking for but I find one of these quite handy. Very cheap and will adapt most cameras to most NV monoculars. Still, it allows cheaper cameras and lenses to be used... I find a tiny compact canon is great to keep in my pocket when I'm out and one of these in my kit lets me connect it for some reasonably photos. David. |

Just be warned...I'm not even much of an amatuer photographer. My camera fu is quite weak. Do you think I'll be GTG with the ring you recommended (plus my TNVC-supplied 35mm SLR adapter) or should I look at special-ordering this kit instead? I don't forsee using the PVS14 with any other electronics/optics than the Canon. I don't want overkill, but I'd hate to order the lone ring above, have it get here and find that I need to order yet another piece to make my setup work. Thanks once again. |

If the filter ring on your Canon lens is a 55mm it'll work fine and there is nothing else you'll need. No need to buy that kit, it doesn't have anything special in it, just a variety of step up step down rings from what I can tell. |
