I'm building a 16 inch Carbine AR from miscellaneous parts and everything is going OK except for the fit of the hand guard into the delta ring. I just bought a new delta ring kit this weekend and I have the "fat" type short hand guard. I don't don't know the manufacture of either but they both look to be good quality. The problem is that the delta ring will not fit over the rear lips of the hand guard. Is this common? Do I need to use the old Drimel tool to "fit" it or is something wrong? I have not installed them on the barrel yet but just trying to fit the ring over the lips it seems to be a problem. I have also tried the delta ring on other hand guard lips and it doesn't seem to fit. Why am I such a dumb ass?. When I install it on the barrel will everything just fit together OK and I am worrying for nothing? Are there different size delta rings for different size hand guards? Is "fitting" required? Please help this dumb old redneck boy out. Thanks. |
