Saw a couple of black, steel, 40-rd, no-name mags marked as being suitable for both the AR15 and AR180. Mag bodies were apparently cut-out to suit both rifles. Any idea what these are worth? Condition: like new, NO markings on mag body or floorplate other than "AR15-AR180"
UPDATE Floorplates appear to be very similar to GI-type floorplates; they have a "bend" at one end. |

Those sound like PMI/Fed. Ordnance mags, one quick way to check is to see if the floorplate is an identical style as USGI 30rd. floorplates (USA mags would be completely flat). Also check to see if the feedlips are enclosed at the back like a USGI 30rd. mag.
The PMI/Fed. Ordnance mags are a pretty decent deal if found in the $25-30 range but I wouldn't pay much more. I also don't recommend keeping them loaded lengthy periods of time. |

Proceed with caution. Was the finished parked or blued? If it is blued run the other way. If it was parked the mags might be OK. YMMV. |

Thanks, guys. Don't recall feedlip details, but mags had a GI-type finish, and floorplates had a GI-type bend at one end.

Pics of USA/PMI:
Here's a Sterling mag: Sterlings are always a parkerized finish but are usually more gray in color than black. They have a USGI style f.plate but it should be marked 'Sterling - England'. |

Definitely not USA. Looks like PMI/FO.
Old saying "Pic is worth 1,000 words" sure is true, eh? Much obliged for your efforts. I'll offer $20 ea, and buy for up to $30 ea. Again, thanks. |

Had a PMI/Steel. Bought for $8, sold for same when wouldn't fit my Colt.
Thought it was a USA, but it did have the floorplate like PMI above. |
