Is it even worth it to Cold Blue an entire handgun that may see quite a bit of carry duty?
I have it done in AlumahydeII Coyote and will refinish it again once the front and rear sights are installed. I have read mixed reviews on the durability of the Cold bluing verses the Hot Bluing. |

In my opinion, cold blue is of only very limited use when wanting to touch up a spot. For any thing more than that, it is basically worthless.
Durability and corrosion resistance can be slightly improved by waxing after the cold blue. This doesn't help a great deal, but it doesn't cost very much either. |
