Midway is the cheapest I've seen but they are currently out of stock. I have one on my UZI & it works great!!!

Will that fit on my flatop AR?

I have the following:
TASCO OPTIMA 2000 3.5 MOA DOT $130 TASCO OPTIMA 2000 7 MOA DOT $130 They are factory new in the box with full warranty. I also have various mounts depending on what you want to mount it on..mounts range from $26 - $40 depending. medcop |

I am all for handgun control!
You have to have control to hit the target <img src=/images/smilies/icon_smi |
I believe it will...however if it won't they make a weaver rail style mount for the Optima |

what mount would i need to put one on a Ruger 22/45?
they do make a weaver mount... thanks again |

Evolution Gun Works makes a mount for the Optima 2000 on the Ruger MK2 or 22/45 that replaces the rear sight. ![]() www.egw-guns.com |

how exactly does the on/off work for this sight?
i understand that you remove the hood to turn it on, but does that involve a pressure switch that the hood hits or is it photo-sensitive? pretty much i am asking if the sight will work in the dark... thanks again |

It never actually turns off. The battery lasts about a year. |

My understanding is that the brighter the ambient light the brighter they get. In darkness they don't work at all. That's why I don't have one yet I'm waiting until they come up with one that actually works in the dark. If I am wrong then good because I wan't one too.

www.natchezss.com has them for under $122.00 all the time, but I don't know if they are in stock.
One problem with Natchez and now Midway, is their return policies, which can be frustrating. Used to be able to send back almost anything unused to Midway, but too many people must have taken advantage of them, so this year things are a bit different. BTW, I've never tried the Optima, or seen it on in a store and wonder if the dot is clear and somewhat round. Anyone? |

|
ok, back to this question...
do they work in the dark? |
|
|
SkaerE, in total, complete darkness they will not work but if there is even a small amount of light they will.
LazyShooter, I tried a Dr. Optics which is identical to the Tasco Optima (except Tasco's housing is plastic) and the dot was clear & bright but slighty out of round. |

If I wanted to waste time arguing I'd get married.

do the docter ones work in the dark or is it the same thing?
they seem to be about 2x the price...are they worth it at all? what kinda warrenty do they have? |
