My friend has a Cetme that is not feeding properly. It fires, and strips the top round from the mag, but about 10% of the time, it will not feed completely into the chamber where the bolt will close. Any ideas? |
We have tried 6 different mags, 3 types of ammo, and stripped, cleaned and lubed the gun twice. Nothing seems to help. |
check these things: recoil spring- replace if you can use a g3 spring recoil spring guide rod- is it bent? lose? broke? is the spring retainer pin pushed out causeing it to hang up? does the ejector sit to high in the trigger pack, make sure it aint bent, and the spring and retaining pin are in palce for it. what lube are you useing! see for it not to go into battery 100% of the time there is something keeping the bolt carrier from travelling foward and the BH and rollers from locking up. is there a scope on the rifle??? does it have a clamp style mount? if so this can cuase the carrier to bind up if the mount is on to tight. make sure the grip frame is seated properly. bout all i can tell you with out pics of each part ect. ect. |

How new (newly built) is this rifle? I traded for one from a guy on here. It did pretty much the same thing. Took it home, cleaned it and brought it back out. The more i shot through it, the better it fed. Seems they need a break in period. If the problem persists, or even if not, check out cetmerifles.com like the other guy here said Loads of useful info there. |
new ones do need a break in,, 1-500 rnds is the norm |

Check the side of the receiver. If it says "Century" anywhere on there, that's your problem. The vast majority of Cetmes out there are Century builds and the vast majority of them don't work. Some people get lucky and get one that works right out of the box, but most don't. My local FFL refuses to deal in them. They say they sent 95% of them back to Century when they were available. You might find a person who's really knowledgable who might be able to fix it. Chances are it's not something simple though. You best (but expensive) bet? Have it rebuilt it on a JLD receiver. |
