I think the double heat-shielded mil-spec guards are Colt proprietary. I don't think they licensed anyone to manufacture them.

They are real handguards, but they are not real Colt M4 double heatshield handguards. I am told they are a bit more oval then round like the Colt's.

I wonder if Bushmaster will start using these as their standard hand guards on their carbine length rifles. Personally, I don't like the looks of the skinny carbine hand guards.

For 10 bucks more, you can get the real Colts. Notice how they call them M4 TYPE handguards.
