Do yourself a favor and get one of these.  You will thank me later.  Even for a few bullets it is well worth it.

I have used one of these i borroed from my buddy and they work great other than leaving pull marks on the projectiles. I am still considering one but i really need a kinetic style because the 147gr berry's plated bullets i am using are really soft and dent very easily.

Me and a couple buddies pulled about 700 bullets with the RCBS kinetic.  (we were on a budget)  The only reason it broke when it did is because someone got a little rambunxious with it.

The next one I bought was another RCBS, I've got probably close to 500 rounds through it with no problems.  Just oil the o ring every once in awhile to keep it from getting brittle.

I use a FA after my Quinteics broke. for regular jacketed I use 10" pliers and a washer in the press, the jaw marks do not make a difference in your groups

I've had my basic blue Midway for 17 years and I've whacked it pretty hard over the years and but for one collect getting dinged up a bit, it's been perfect.

A few months back, I bought the Hornady Collet puller for my 338LM carts, which are too big for the standard kinetics out there, but I haven't used it yet.  I imagine that I'd use the Hornady for large jobs, or basic demilling pulldowns.

For smaller batches, onesies, or twosies, the kinetics are fine.  The key with these, is to make sure you're hitting them on a hard, firm surface with short, abrupt raps.  You're not whacking a baseball over the center field fence.

Another tip:

If you're going to use a kinetic for a large quantity, add a step to your process.  Make up your seater die, and give the seater an extra turn or two, then run each cartridge up into the die, and press the bullet a little deeper.  This breaks the crimp, and makes the kinetic pullers much easier to use.

Me and 2 other guys pulled (IIRC) somewhere around 1200 rounds of old 30-06 like this, just to salvage the bullets.

I've been using the blue Midway for a while and it works fine for me.   I used it a bunch over the weekend, I am just starting back at reloading after 6-7 years away.

Until you need to pull a lead bullet, or a semi-wadcutter (let alone a full wadcutter).

The strongest is a home built tool shown in the Gateway thread.
