I recently bought a fully rifled slug barrel for my remington 1100. Should I follow some sort of break-in routine like some people do with new rifles? I will be firing sabot slugs so I assume that only the plastic sabot will be touching the barrels lands and grooves. Also, will firing non-sabot slugs out of this barrel hurt it?

I've never heard of a break in routine.  And yes, with the Sabot, only the plastic should touch the barrel.

If you use a rifled slug, it shouldn't harm the barrel as far as I know since the lead slug should be much softer than the barrel.  However, the accuracy will probably be horrible.
