I'm looking for a detactable box magazine conversion for a .22-250 VS.  I need something that holds atleast 10 rds.

I know HS Precison makes a kit for a short action 700 but I don't think it can be used with a .22-250 even though their website says it is for short action calibers.

I had one done by Robar in 308. Never even heard of one in 22-250.

Badger Ordnance makes one that uses AICS mags, ought to work fine.

Call up HS Precision.  When i ordered my box mag from them, they asked me which caliber.  22-250 is a popular sporting cart, I think they have made them in the past.

Give them a call and get a solid answer rather then just assuming they don't.

In the case of cartridges whose base matched up with commonly available stripper clips, it might be cheaper, and maybe more effective to have a stripper clip guide made and attached to your receiver.  IIRC, this was often done with long-range, iron-sight-only bolt match rifles.  You would have to use a Scout scope set up to employ stripper clips, of course, but this is an advantage, not a liability.

I called them two years ago and they told me it wont work with a 22-250

dunno if it will work with your cartridge of choice, but I've got a Badger mag conversion on a Rem 700 and it kicks butt......

I looked at the Badger one.  I can't get over the funny looking trigger guard.

well i think you'd get over the funny looking trigger guard alot faster when compared to the shitty feeding qualities of the hs mag design. The HS mag requires lots of tuning. Go over to snipershide and look there. Way more info over there.

How is this done? I have always thought that the M14 mag conversion was really neat.
