I just put a new M4 together for a friend, the gun has a Modified choke installed, is this OK with slugs or should I use an improved cylinder choke ?

Its OK / safe to use, but slug accuracy may be better with Imp. Cylinder or Cylinder. You’ll need to test a few choke constrictions and brands of slugs to know what works best.

Mine will ring a 12" plate at 100yds with a modified choke and cheap walmart Winchester slugs.... May vary from one shotgun to the next but that's been my experience.

If you run Federal FliteControl 00 Buck, choke will mess up the wad, you want no choke or skeet.
