I'm still pretty new to the suppressor world, so forgive me for what's probably a stupid question, but...
I'm thinking about suppressing a 10-22 and was wondering if the barrel has to be cut down to be able to thread it, ie cut out the crown? The reason I ask, is that I don't really want to have to get the extra SBR stamp, so if I start with a 16" barrel and it has to be cut down, that would put me in SBR lengths? Thanks for any advice guys. |

To answer the question...no. So they just thread right through the existing crown? On a slight tangent, are all supressors threaded the same? In my surfing, I haven't read about different threads, so I'm guessing there is an industry standard that everyone uses? |

For what it costs to thread the stock barrel you would be better off getting a Green Mountain threaded barrel. I'll do some checking and may end up going this route. Don't have a donor rifle yet, so still just gathering info and trying to figure out how I'm going to approach this. |

To the best of my knowledge, ALL rimfire suppressors available in the US come threaded 1/2x28. Once you go to centerfire cans, there are quite a few different thread options. |
