Lots of good experience with Dierra, Hornady, and Nosler, but not Barnes. Intended use: paper punching, game from prairie dogs to elk. Any experience to share? Barnes makes a bunch of different bullets, I have had good luck with all of them. Their varmint grenades are good for pdogs and coyotes. They TSX bullets are good for just about anything walking the face of the earth. And if you cant kill it with a TSX they make some wicked solids too. |
| If you use one of the solid copper bullets (does Barnes Make anything else these days?) it has been my experience that you should use no crimp for best consistancy and accuracy. I have used the 70gn TSX in my ARs and 110gn and 150gn in my .308s and both have given good accuracy and consistant game penetration and take down. |
| They tend to be accurate bullets...the ones I've tried anyway. TTSX in the .308 and .338 have been good for me. In .223, the 55 gr. MPG have been excellent. Fairly cheap compared to most of their others, and they are a flat base. They put the smoke on the coyotes... |
