| I'm gonna pop for my first suppressor here in the near future and these are the top 3 for me. These three look great to me cause that way I can suppress my .22's and .17hmr. Just wondering what people's thoughts were for which to go for. Seems to me that these are all great options and I'm leaning towards the Element. Just wanted to make sure there isn't a reason to avoid any of these, especially the Element. Thanks. |

For the ease of cleaning and lack of blowback as well as the sound reduction my vote is always the Liberty Kodiaks..TL if your going to shoot rimfire only and not Hornet or 5.7 as its quieter yet.
I realize it maybe no help with the choices you listed but I then added the Essence because I love that design and what it does. Not move to another can. I have 4 now of that design.. Here's some youtube vids of mine..I run them on about every host you can think of..Some others in there of side by side..etc..I have it set up so the audio is very accurate aside from the ones with the Steel roof over the bench.. vote for a SS Sparrow, mine isnt in hand yet, but did some research on it prior to pulling the plug.
I also looked into the Spectre. It was really a toss up for me between the 2. Waiting on some numbers regarding the SF 22 can. It may be my next. Chondro, do you work for Kodiak? If not, you should look into getting into their marketing/sales department. |

You know after taking possession of my Torch and playing with my Mystic, a job with Liberty should be in my calling.. If I never found out about the Kodiak design I wouldn't be so dissappointed in so many of my other cans..That's the big downside.. Given some of the cans listed have some of you guys even compared any of the other rimfire cans? |

For me it's a range toy first and foremost. Second it is for hunting, both on 22LR and 17HMR. I got the SWR Spectre first, and the SilencerCo Sparrow second. I don't have the SS Sparrow yet since I have 9 22LR cans and just can't justify a 10th before other needs are filled. If I could do it all over again and just have ONE 22LR suppressor, it would be the SilencerCo SS Sparrow.
Having both designs - I find that I can shoot far more between cleanings than I can the Spectre. The Sparrow is easier to take apart & I don't have to worry about the baffles getting leaded/carbon-ed into place & possibly not coming out. The last time I put about 800 rounds through my Spectre it took some soaking and elbow grease to take it apart. Cleaning more tedious even with a bead blast cabinet. The mono core design of the SS Sparrow - coupled with the SS so I can blast with ease makes it the easy winner to me. I can clean my Sparrow every couple THOUSAND rounds. That's a big deal, most companies with user serviceable units suggest 500-1000 before failure to extract the internals may result. With the long winded explanation out of the way - the sparrow gets used much more since I don't dread cleaning it nearly as much. For the best sound/weight I normally use my Gemtech Outback II's. They're one of the few rimfire suppressors that are 5" long, lighter than 3oz. I can't say it's true for all hosts, but on my 22LR pistols they're the only suppressor that doesn't change the POI at all. However - if they aren't cleaned religiously at 200-300 rounds fired I can't get them apart. As a result I shoot them only when hunting when accuracy counts, and they don't get used nearly as much as my Sparrow. When people come into town and want to drop a few (2-4) bulk packs (Fed 550 or 525) I get out the Sparrow so when they leave & I have to clean it's much easier. |
