I am looking for load data for 55 grain fmj and 69 grain smk's using reloader 15. My manual (modern reloading by richard lee) has the 55's starting load at 25.3gns and max at 28. The 69 smk's are 25.5gns max. I can not find much data online about the alliant powders. If you can let me know what manuals have the info or what there specs are as i would like to compare from more than one loading manual before i get started.

This book and the other books published by the same company is the absolute minimum reloading material every reloader should own. It is a compilation of all the current manuals and you basically get everyones data for that caliber for chump change.

They are in no way as good as a real reloading manual because they offer no insight, advice , methods or equipment choices. They do give you powder charges, primers, bullets and cases to work with.

Don't have one yet? What are you waiting for?

Alliant has a website you can source for charge weights. While Lee is the quintessential loading manual for every reloader follwed by a very close second. Lyman # 49. Sierra, Nosler, Speer, and Hornady are manuals every rifle reloader should have along with an arsenal of phone numbers.

Hodgdons 913-362-9455

Hornady 308-382-1390

CCI 866-286-7436

Sierra 660-827-6300

Nosler 800-285-3701

Accurate 406-234-0422

Suggestion: Source at least half dozen sources before capping one case with a bullet.

I have several books, but these books are great for a specific cartridge. I have the .300/.375 H&H, .38 Super, .45 Auto, and 9mm Luger books.

One last thing. I might as well put this in my sig line. " If you load brand x bullets then you'll need brand X's load manual. You can call Sierra and they will bill your card and ship same day.

One other tip: Say I'm loading 180 gran SMKHPBT using RL15. I will google 180 SMK .308 RL15 for loads posted on web by reloaders who've had success. Very critical tool in my load development.

I just got the Alliant Powder reloader's guide in the mail the other day.  (its free though their website)

I was looking for this exact load.

How its listed in the book.....

Sierra 69gr HPBT       Reloader 15      Primer_Fed 205M    Brass_Winchester     OAL_2.260     Powder Weight_ 25.5

FPS_2956

My question being kinda new, listing only 25.5, I would assume that would be max.  I would work from 23.00 gr (10%) working back up to max?

Just got my free copy the other day also.

Wish they would of listed Re-15 with 55 gr bullets, instead of Re-10.
