I just received a Form 1 for an SBR approved in 3 months. Quite impressive since last year it took 11 months for an SBR Form 1 to get processed.
Mailed this one in on Sept 15, 2014 - it was stamped approved Dec 14, 2014 (looks like they are working on Sunday now). Arrived in my mail box Dec 26 (belated Christmas present). Was I just lucky or are other experiencing faster processing time? |

WOW 17 days is fast! I just use the old paper system - I'm an LLC and this is not my first stamp so I guess they have a folder for me now I may try the e-File next time but last time I was on the site is said it was not accepting submissions. Thanks for the tip. |

Thanks for the tip. You don't get bumped up at all for having a previous submittal. LLCs can efile too. All the wait times are trending in the right direction

I too have a previously submitted and approved form 1 so i'm going to keep hoping my ATF packet comes soon. |

Quoted: I'm on month 9. If newer forms are being approved faster than forms that have been in the system for 9 months, something's fishy in Toon Town. My efiled form 1s have all been just over 30 days.

My Class 3 dealer who does a ton of Form 4s has been getting them all back in 4-6 months for quite some time now. And this is obviously by paper filing as Form 4s have been down for eForms for quite some time now. |

Of course, they are a government agency, so it's best to take any estimate they give us with an enormous grain of salt. |

I think I hold the record for the longest paper form 1 wait. 11.5 months without an error. Epic timing is my specialty Noper.. I had one with a error that had to be addressed and it was near 13 months- Form 4 to a dealer Of the 4 guns I sold from my stash cuz I'm frickin needing my retirement funded 2 were form 4 and was 6 months to a Trust. One was to a Corporation in 7 months and the last 13 month to a Mfg Dealer as stated above. |

Maybe they're waiting til after the ruling of 41p to see if it's even needed to bring it back online. If it passes and everything has to go through a CLEO sign off, I don't see a need in eforms being around at all? Couldn't you just scan the CLEO signature form and upload like the trust? |

The joke in PA about that is in 1936, the city of Johnstown, PA had a devastating flood. The government imposed an 18% tax on all liquor "for a few years" until the town was rebuilt. We're still paying it. So yeah, take any government estimate with an enormous grain of salt. ;) |

So, what would be the point of the eform system then? Well, there are other people that use EForms, not just us end users. Just adding F3s back in would be helpful. Several of the other forms that dealers/manufacturers use are also handy to have in there. Granted, we'd all like to be able to file F1s and F4s in the long run, but who knows? |
