I've got an old 870 and when I rack a round into the chamber the locking block doesn't lock and the slide will pull straight back with ease. The slide looks good so is the block wore out?

Your action bar lock might be the problem.

Make sure the barrel is fully seated into the receiver. If it has bumped up against the ejector, the barrel can cause damage to the ejector and also result in the bolt group not locking.

Deanventure, you are the man. Thanks for the help guys. It turns out the action bar lock was bent inward allowing it to ride out of it's depression and go high up in the works. I tweaked it back out and now the gun cycles fine.
