I seem to remember someone discussed this in the past. I am getting 2 1050's and am interested in the possibility of doing a LockNLoad (Hornaday) conversion on the toolheads. Is it possible, is it worth the trouble, and does it compromise press operation/ammo quality in any way?

Ron there isn't enough material to open the holes up for the inserts , I'm guess what you saw was that a few people use the LnL lock rings for quick changing the dies on the toolhead

I found a NOS toolhead at a gunshop today. Yep- not much room around the die holes. I sure hope the 1050 fairy delivers something soon... I am not greedy and only ordered 2 of them. Thanks!

I thought about adding another on when I sold the 550 and 650 but couldn't talk myself into it, Now I'm always watching for a RL1000 to add to the bench
