I just mounted a Simmons 4x12x40 on the old 1022(completely stock) and zeroed it at 25yds.
What do you guys do? The same, 50yds,????
First time I've had a scope on the lil' beastie.

I sight mine in to hit dead on at fifty yards and then shoot it at paper at 100 yards to find out just how much bullet drop I get. I prefer to hold over for long shots rather than mess with my scopes elevation. Have fun!

Depends on what you want to do with it. I'd sight/zero it in at 50 yards.

I shoot silhouette and mini-palma so I have worked out bullet drop to 200 yards. Most 22LR target ammo will drop 6-7 inches at 100 and 52 inches at 200 yards.

Exactly what I would say.  50 yards is probably the best, then rather than holdover, just find the correct number of clicks you'll need to rezero it at different ranges.  200 yards is a waste of time though, atleast until you start working it over or if its a tack driver out of the box.
