Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - How do you measure bullets for Quickload?

I'm wanting to measure my 7mm 162gr ELD-X bullets so I can put them in quickload. How does one do this?

I started with the 162 A-max data and modified it, but I'm showing my ELDX bullet has much higher pressures than the Amax, so I'm wondering if I'm even doing the measuring right.

Better yet does anyone have the measurements for the 7mm 162gr ELDX?

Projectile OA Length - Self Explanatory
Projectile Diameter - Self Explanatory

Small Diameter of Taper- Is this the width of the boat tail at bottom???
Large Diameter of Taper- Start of boat tail taper (usually looks to be same as diameter)
Length of Taper - Is this the length of the boat tail taper?

Seriously, though, doesn't QuickLOAD have a user guide of some sort that explains this?  Alternatively, look at the measurements in the database for a known bullet.  Decipher the meaning based on a comparison of the two.

The file to read is called ql_eng.pdf which is in the same directory as the QL program file. Page 48-50 indicate you are correct.

I'm traveling, so I can't check, but that's the bullet I was shooting today.  I think that Hornady part number is in my QL database with both a G1 & G7 BC.  Version 3.9.  Have you checked the item number?  It'll be Friday night before I can check at home.
