I looked in all my manuals but cannot find a .223 load using Hodgdon H4831. I bought about 10 lbs of the stuff when I was shooting a lot of .270 but sold my rifle. Anyway I have other powders but want to use it up and am looking for a safe starting load for my AR-15 and single shot .223. Any suggestions??

hogdon doesn't list data for 223 and h4831 not a recommended powder for the caliber

H4831 is way to slow to use in the .223 trade it for something more suitable

4831 isn't going to work in .223, period.

Get yourself some H335 for any bullet 62 grains and lower and RL-15 for anything heavier.
