remember all the SA, guatamalan and malasian ammo a few years back? are the days of REALLY cheap (under .14/round) gone?

is it true that south africa won't send us any more ammo because of some deal with the united nations?

Read my post under the thread "Inexpensive .223 ammo".  I talk about some surplus M193 I am shooting.

Get the Australian F4 and Port before it dries up.

I'm paranoid that the stuff is going to truely be some of the last "surplus" we see for a very long time.

I missed the days of surplus Hirtenberg which is possibly the best ammo I've seen judging from the way it's run through my AR10, only 300 or so rounds left between a 200round battle pack and 5 or so boxes in an ammo can.

5.56x45mm Surp, not sure.   It's hard to beat the deals that were going for Q3131A and XM193 when they were hitting about 6-8 months ago, who needs South African when the  XM193 was going for 150 dollars per 1k rounds.

Yes the UN anti-gunners are behind the surplus shortage. Part of the overall small arms anti-proliforation program and Allied with our local gun grabbers.

the South African government announced that it would destroy domestic stocks of surplus and confiscated weapons instead of selling them. The new programme, Operation Mouflon, formally began on 6 July 2000 with the destruction of some 63,000 assault rifles, pistols and machine guns, among nearly 263,000 small arms scheduled for destruction.

The Program of Action, agreed to by consensus, encourages nations:

-to destroy surplus stocks of small arms; and

       - to urge governments to criminalize the manufacture, possession and trade of these weapons.
