I have an upper that does not have a thread on it. Does anyone know of anything anyone sells that will allow me to thread the barrell myself, or do I have to send it off and if so to who?

Send it off to get it done. It has to be turned down to major diameter for the thread. If this is not done centered the bullet will strike whatever is threaded onto the barrel upon exiting. Not a good thing. There are several places that do it here on the forum. IIRC Adco is one that is recommended a lot but wait for conformation on this.

Check around locally for a smith that has a lathe and can thread the barrel correctly.
If you can not fine one locally, then there are a few smiths at the site that can the work, but you will be looking at the increased price of shipping over just the work.

As stated, using a die with a loose pilot can lead to the threads being off center, or even to the distortion in the bore itself.
