Ok looking for pics of M4 carbine with gemtech bi-lock with birdcage flash suppressor taking the barrel out to 16"

Need a source for the bi-lock/birdcage (if any is better than going right to Gemtech for such)

Need recommended smith to permanently instal bi-lock/birdcage on my M4 (looks like my post-ban project is becoming a preban project so I may want to have the same smith add a front sight which includes the bayonet lug).

Thanks in advance

adh,

Do yourself a favor and have Gemtech install it for you, otherwise you won't be covered by their warranty.  If you let them install it, anything that happens due to the bi-lock will pretty much be covered by Gemtech.  If you can afford the M4-96D, you can afford to get the bi-lock from Gemtech and have them install it.  It's not worth what you would save by outsourcing it all by another IMHO.  By the way, I just back a 11.5" upper with the bi-lock if you care for a picture of that, or check out my picture of an older set up in the general discussion board entitled "Eye Candy".

Again, sorry for the quality of my pictures, I am working with a very limited camera (and skill).  Hope this helps.

Top is an 11.5" Commando with KAC FF RAS Short and GG&G Flip up sight and Bi-loc.  Middle is standard A2 Flash Hider, removed from same unit. Bottom is a stripped M4 14.5" with Vortex Tactical (Current Style) Flash Hider, and later is the same with the sight tower that came off the M4.

And a couple of shots of my old setup, another 11.5"

Mike, did Gemtech install that for you, and if so what was the charge?

AK Mike,
sorry, but yours is not the current Vortex flash eliminator.  You have either a G4 or G5 variant.  The current model is the G-6, whcih has a skirt going up over the barrel and a recess in the rear of the body designed specifically to accept the new AT LTD QD suppressor.

mach6: True, I don't have the absolutely latest Vortex on that M4.  That Vortex I bought was brand new production and sent out within the last 6 months though.  I don't know if I would even want the G6 as I don't plan to mount a suppressor on it.  I actually haven't even seen the newer ones in anyones hands (at the time), but have seen some pics.

Lumpy:  Yes, I just got it back from Gemtech.  The Bi-loc was $85 and cost $25 to mount it.  $25 well spent if I may add.
