Are there any free float tubes that look like normal A2 handguards, i.e. you wouldn't be able to tell it's a free float tube just by appearance?

DCM tubes go under factory handguards.  Busnaster, Fulton Armory, accuracy speaks and brownells all sell them.  Accuracy speaks even sells a carbine lenght version/

Sure there are. They are called "CMP legal" or "service rifle legal" and us highpower service rifle shooters use them. One of the best as far as price and ruggedness is the one made by Rock River. The regular A2 handguards are modified in order to fit the tube and from the outward appearance it looks as issued. The RR costs about $100, sometimes a little less.

You can also get the RRA in a midlength.
