Maybe it really doesnt exist, or I simply cannot find it, or there is really no need to do it....
I'll be ordering my "no-ban M4gery" kit from Model1 real soon to go with the DPMS stripped lower I recently aquired.  Looking to see if there is a document that explains where one should polish sand and/or buff parts for smoothing out the action.  I did this successfully on my Kel-Tec P32, but I'm a total newbie WRT AR's.    Also, anybody know if the Model1 kits come with instructions?  I've found the PDF files here under the Info tab and they look great, but I'm also planning to purchase the USMC Tech Manual and the Armorer/Depot Maintenance manuals.  Thanks!

Not that I'm an expert on ARs by any stretch of the imagination(I really only had one due to staying qualified on them) I have recently been bit hard and have gotten a few others after seeing how easy they are to build up from parts. The things can not be compared to a Kel-Tec type fluff and buff, I had a Kel-tec for a backup for a couple weeks and ran into all kinds of problems, but I digress... As long as quality parts are used they will run fine. Like any weapon system, I'm sure little things like trigger jobs and such can smooth up the rifle to an extent, but am not really sure it's a "must do".

OK, so doing more research, I guess about the only tip would be to soak the small parts in CLP overnight, and be prepared to twist a drillbit by hand in some holes...  I've already lacquer-stik'ed my lower ... thinking of doing the lettering (if any) on the upper, and degree marks on the windage & elev knobs.

Yes, it's kind of like a baseball glove the more that you use it the better it feels

Holy carp, Batman!

Fluffing?  Buffing?  On ARFCOM?  I thought that was only in the porn industry!

(sorry to digress/hijack: we had a fluffer conversation at lunch the other day with the guys when someone didn't know what he was being called)

For those that don't know, "fluffers" are the girls that get the male performers "ready" for their on-camera performance in the adult entertainment industry.
