This is my first AR build, and I used a  complete Delton upper. I was surprised to see an oring around the extractor spring, i thought that was a mod I was going have to do later. I'm excited, something I didn't have to chase down. I pulled off a few rounds on my property after the build, but can't wait to take it to the range to see where it's really shooting.

Yes, some MFGs do it that way. My Rem. VTR came that way. Since it was my first AR I thought they all did.

the O ring isn't needed and can provide too much Extractor tension. Brass smears on the bolt face is one result.

I run the Bravo spring and bumper in all my guns. Leave the O ring in the your parts box.

The 308 BCG that I ordered from Rainier Arms (for my Mega MA-TEN build) came with the extractor upgrade. I didn't realize it until I went to install the parts . I just assumed that it wouldn't have it. Oh well ... now I have an extra upgrade kit.

I take a close look at my brass to see if there are any marks just to be safe.

I hand load all my ammo and over 90% of it is with Remington commercial brass. I have had ZERO problems with my brass or rifle. It is something I will be watching more closely though. My owners manual says to make sure the "O" ring is installed.
