Hi all , Im thinking about building my first rifle, but Im in calif. so the fab10 lower receiver is the only one I can use right know. Does anybody know if I can use a pre-ban upper on the fab10 lower because of the internal mag? Im thinking that if the lower receiver doesn't have external mag. it wont fall under the ban.

Yes. FAB's, by legal definition, are not AW's and are not bound by the, Fed or State, AWB's. I have four, they are easy to build on, and run great.

I'm starting one too and it looks like it's gonna be tons of fun.
Now I just gotta decide on an upper. BTW, nice forum and I have learned a lot by lurking for the past 2-3 months.

What's the price for a Fab 10?

For a stripped down lower you will be looking around 290.00.

Lon what type of uppers are you using? I was looking at a JT but not sure if they will fit without any gunsmithing

I have a JT upper and a Bushy upper for my FAB-10.  Either fits great with almost no play.  The color of the two halves don't match, but they both shoot great!  No gunsmithing needed.  Slap on the upper and you are good to go.

I just picked up a JT EM4 at the Bigo Reno Gun Show today. The build quality is top notch and now I can't wait for my lower reciever. Stupid lack of funds....

Hi Lon_Moer,  just wondering where you got your Fab10,  and how much they cost you? I can pick one up local for 300.00.

You might try talking directly to the FAB 10 manufacturers and try to talk them into selling directly to you and shipping it through a transfer dealer.  This should save you $50+ bucks that dealers have been marking up the lower receiver.  The FAB 10 manufacturers have a webshite http://www.fabten.com
