I had my first broken shell today after 15 years of shooting. It was 20 rounds into the day.
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd143/pruav/guns/11_14_0.jpg It was my reload of 26 gr Varget in a once fired LC brass shooting a 55 gr Winchester FMJ giving a velocity of 2824 fps . Luckily I was able to stick a long screwdriver in the chamber and fish the front part out. The rest of the ammo I shot today was fine. Do i really need to invest in a broken shell extractor or will I be able to use the long screwdriver for all broken shells? Tell me your stories of broken shells. |
