Actually if it is just an "M"  it is the machine code designating an LAR (Grizzly Arms) product.  All their "blemished" uppers had this machine mark (no M4 ramps).....

Does the finish not look like typical anodizing? LAR anodizes then puts a teflon coating over it. You'll be able to tell since its a really smooth finish.

Well, this is a brand new CMMG upper and the "M" is above the cloverleaf  in the front of receiver above the Delta ring, I should've made that clear. It would sucked badly if this is a high $$$ blems.
