It is more than legal if you perm it. Have one on my 14.5 Afghan upper built by Denny
 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=250063 PS OAL is 3 1/4" so you can cut back your 14.5 further for a "cooler" shortie look. |

Now I've got to get one of those Afghan barrels. And another rifle to go with it. This could take priority over my recce build. Or it could *become* my recce build. Damn you. Damn you all. I hate this board. |

I'm sending an Oly Arms SUM barrel for Denny to cut down and permanently attached the KFH for an OAL of 16.25". Of course since he'll be sending me back my assembled upper, I might as well order up a few more things like a magpul 93B, Tango down VFG and Bolt assembly to keep the upper company on the trip back to VA
