I finally decided to pull the trigger on building an my AR15. I kicked around the idea of buying something completed or building one. I figured that most folks, including myself, tend to buy things and then make it there own. So I did a bit of research and got to work.
I went with a full M.O.E furniture set from Magpul. My rational behind that was after hours of reading and looking in to reviews I personally didn't have a whole lot of 'hands on' experience with different setups on the AR platform. So I went with the relatively inexpensive yet reliable product from Magpul's M.O.E line up and figured if I felt differently about things in the future it gave me the room to upgrade and switch components out without feeling like I blew a lot of money on expensive components that didn't really give me the fit or feel I was looking for, because again I had a general idea, but not the experience needed to make a solid decision around fit and performance. Having only fired couple different variations of the AR, I knew I wanted something smaller in a barrel size, giving me an overall shorter profile. Knowing that I also didn't want to have to mess with tax stamps and NFA laws on my first go around I knew my options would greatly decrease. Here is what I ended up with. Let me know what you think. Full M.O.E Magpul Furniture MBUS Gen 2 Palmetto State Armory (PSA) Lower Receiver Palmetto State Armory (PSA) Lower Parts Kit Palmetto State Armory (PSA) Buffer Tube Palmetto State Armory (PSA) Carbine Buffer Standard weight KNS non rotating pins (standard) Magpul B.A.D Lever BCM BFH 14.5” Mid Length Upper Receiver Group BCM Bolt Carrier Group MPI Auto Battle Comp 1.5 Matte Black perma attached BCMGUNFIGHTER Charging Handle w/ mod 4 (medium) latch 2 Magpul P Mags Still waiting on my IKICKHIPPIES sling plate.... O.o A buddy of mine and I went to the range this weekend and put 60 rounds through her and she felt great! Thinking of cleaning her back down and using some froglube. Anyone have any experience with it? Well on to the pics and video... watch your volume she is very loud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQNEp0RV2O4 http://i.imgur.com/8ujKWl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/v91ogl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/opwAml.jpg http://i.imgur.com/vg3vml.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nrMXfl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ayfGdl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/13400l.jpg |
| So far its great! I believe its part to blame for the increased noise. I'd like to get to the outdoor range for a bit more shooting. Indoor range is very temperamental about rapid fire. I'll be sure to report my findings. I may switch to a heavy buffer as well. |

You don't happen to like Magpul by any chance do you I like it, looks real nice for a first build. That looks like a fine build you have there. But what other upgrade could you think of? It looks perfect just the way it is. |

Good job on the build. I respect your decision on just going with the full out MOE before jumping into anything more expensive. If you don't mind me asking, what made you go with a B.A.D.? What does this mean as far as MOE? What is B.A.D system? Thanks, -Nigel |

It is the bolt release extension lever that extends down and through the trigger guard. It allows you to release or lock open the bolt/BCG with your trigger finger so you don't have to shift your grip on either hand. |
