I have noticed in the pics in the postings here that some people leave the little yellow "if-you-look-at-a-laser-you-will-go-blind" sticker on the side of there Eotech.
Why do people leave them on...? (taking it off was the first thing I did to my Eotech, before mounting it on my flat-top) |
It's like the matress tag?
Maybe it's cuz you're also talking about people who are affraid to scratch their weapons. |
because Murphy's Law is everywhere and once you take it off a liberal democrat in disguise will look directly at the laser and sue you for emotional suffering, loss of wages, etc etc.

Maybe some folks like the "new in box" look.
I ripped that label off the first chance I got. |
I took mine off because there is absolutely nothing yellow about my rifle or it's operator. (Well I'm not really that fond of spiders or snakes but you know what I mean)

Who cares? On or off does it matter? Do you think it give away your position or something?
I would guess because the clones don't come with that cool yellow sticker
I care because I think it looks Ghey. |
Personally I think it's GAY to worry about how something looks (particularly when it's someone else's property) rather than the performance.
Fashion/Asthetics is not known as a *manly* persuit. |
How it LOOKS is the number one purchase criteria on this site! Specifically how it looks at the range! Will the sticker hinder or help my qwest to be stared at when I whip it out of my foam cut custom case! |
I wouldn't be surprised to see someone take it off because it looks "ghey" and then post a thread asking how to get rid of the "sticky" or how to make the two black areas look the same.
Aint that the truth! The fashion squad has invaded! |
So did you take your sticker off? |
I guess I'm just a lazy bastard or I was so excited to get the top of line NIB for $200 and just mounted the damn thing and went on my merry way....
So is this a gay way of asking me what I'm wearing? |

The sticker came right off because:
1. It's mine so I'll do whatever the fuck I want with it. & 2. Stickers don't belong on ANY gun of mine. |
But the yellow sticker can easily gives out my position while I pose at the mirror in my room. hippie.gif

A space shuttle door gunner in my unit bit the bullet when the enemy spotted the reflection off of his eotech sticker... No room for error in our line of work...
It isn't even possible to look at the laser in the EOTech is it?
MarkM is my daddy.
I don't have a foam case though...I just toss my AR(s) along with my roommates AR into the trunk and drive off. It's a good thing we didn't drive like bats out of hell with them in the trunk of the loaner car last week...they might have gotten scratched bumping around with all the gear, ammo, guns. The sticker protects that part of the hood from scratches. |
Well,
I leave it attached so it reminds me not to look directly in to the laser. See, If I look into the laser I may go blind and have to sell my entire collection to everyone on this board..... |
Just so no one could accuse me of wanting a pretty rifle the first thing I did was take off the yellow sticker and then proceed to kick my EOThingy across the parking lot for the OPERATOR look
This coming from the guy that paints his rifle every month. |

Whats it about 3/16 of an inch by now? |

AWSOME! |

Yojimbo-
That is exactly what I did when I tore it off of the sight, except that I stuck it to the instruction book that has that sticker in black and white, now it has some color next to it. Still, I am much more impressed with this model 551 than I thought I would be, it is very accurate, once zeroed, durable, etc. |
You'd have to break it open to get at the laser, it's emitted straight up, and the hood would be in the way from any angle you could even try to see it. There was a thread with a guy from Crimson Trace awhile back and apparently it's a FDA regulation for any lasers that are of a certain intensity to have a warning label (yes, appearly a laser is a "drug" of some kind). That's why CT includes stickers to add to your gun with their grips. Of course if the customer doesn't want to add these stickers, it's no skin off the mfg's nose. I figure if my CT laser is pointed at you, damage to your eyes is the least of your worries.... |

I put mine back on because when I took it off, my weiner got sooooooo big from my skyrocketed level of TactiCool that I couldn't wear pants. It's too cold for that now...and who wants to carry a wheelbarrow everywhere?
I put stickers all over my ARs...mostly from my 5 year old daughter's pony sticker stash...shhhh, don't tell
Your rifle looks very nice. I was just teasing you. I was hoping you'd get a little miffed though. I'll take the lavendar one, I gotta somehow convice my wife to go shooting and that might be just the ticket. You get out in the desert much and roll around and hide from things that you need that desert look?? Just curious. |

Stickers add performance... just ask those guys driving the modded Japanese cars!
