so you're saying PRi mags are sold as Barrett? cause i swear i could see Barrett stamped on the mag bodies...
anyway, PRi has what exactly, 28 rnd. 6.8 mags? how much are they each if i purchase say, 10.

i've tried IM ing you, but you don't take them.

Actually Barrett mags are not made by PRI, although the maker escapes me right now.  The ones Barrett ships with their M468 uppers are not quite as beefy and sturdy as PRI mags, and they are marked Barrett down the side.

Wasn't the magazine capacity originally billeted as 28 rounds?

The first PRI mags I got from WES at MSTN were about 3/4 of an inch longer than 5.56 mags and would hold 28 rounds.  I later bought a PRI mag from Midway that was the same size as a 5.56 mag -- I think it will only hold 25.

BTW the mags from WES had sheet metal followers while the Midway one has a blue magpul follower.

hmmm...

how un-reliable are .223 mags if used with the 6.8?
i read they should be loaded with 28 or less rounds, but in terms of feeding/reliability???
i've got a few Beta c Mags, wonder if they'd work...

Pri makes steel mags if i'm not mistaken, noone makes aluminum mags yet?
myself I thought Barrett's mags were 28 rnds. NOT 25

VERY.

Nothing else to say.

"Existing 5.56 mm magazines can easily be modified to shoot both 6.8 mm and 5.56 mm, using a new follower and slight modification to the feed lips. Since the magazines can still shoot 5.56 mm, they are still BATF legal. When modified this way, a typical GI 30 rd 5.56 mm mag will take 25 or 26 rounds of 6.8 mm. FWIW, all of our initial SPC testing was done using existing 5.56 mm magazines, NOT the new 28 rd PRI 6.8 mm specific mags."

I'm confused...

I won't go against Dr. Roberts on much, but this is one thing I will...  It has been well documented that 5.56 mags will take maybe five or six rounds of 6.8 before they start to expand and not work.

Here's the best thread I've seen - it has pictures to remove all doubt - to document how 5.56 mags won't work...  Lightfighter 6.8 in 5.56 mags = won't work!

Spooky

not crazy at all about those lip bottoms...i would have much rather you stocked the lipless ones(like the standard flat .223 mag bottoms)

Wes or ADCO, did PRI change the dimensions of the mag body at one point?

i would prefer the flat bottoms, thanks

so, do you have pics of the ACTUAL mags? i'd like to see the size compared to a standard .223 mag (and can you clarify if they are 25 or 28 rnds.)

That's what I thought as well.  I wonder what he meant when he said that.
