Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Who makes AR parts?

Now I know not all the makers of AR's make all the parts, so I am wondering just who does.

Like the Bolt assemblies, lower parts stuff like that.

If I ordered a bolt assembly from Model 1 and saved some money could I really be getting the same bolt as RRA or maybe DPMS?

I don't have first hand knowledge, but several parts dealers (including some on this site) have told me that most of the "big names" get their "internal parts" from DPMS. The "higher end" companies then do their own detailing, finishing.

- thats what I heard, truth or not ...?
