I built a billet mega 18" with 16.5" hand guard. Thinking of going with a Leupold Mark AR Firedot (LP115387) (anyone have one used btw?)
What scope mount should I be looking for? Lightweight is my only preference at this point. Thanks |

+1 for Areo. Light on the weight and also the wallet.
if you need the quick throw look at the ADM, Bobro, LaRue... avoid the ADM recon and go for the delta. The recon line has the rings attached to the body via pins that might break or work lose, the delta line is all one piece of metal. |

I use all three of these mounts and they are all excellent. |
| I prefer DNZ mounts. The Aero is good. Its drawbacks are height above bore (too high for my tastes) and the scope tends to rotate as you tighten the rings more so than other mounts I've used. It is strong, light, and well-priced though, particularly for 30mm mounts. The DNZ Freedom Reapers are nearly as light, lower to the bore, and easier to install. For some scopes you need the extra height if you want a back-up sight under your scope. If you don't need the height, there is no reason to have it, IMO. |
