Hey everybody,

I am very close to finishing my 7.62x39 AR build and I was wondering what ammo you shoot and about what size groups do you get?

Barnaul (aka Brown Bear, Silver Bear) and Golden Tiger.

Never shot for groups with my x39 ARs.

I shoot mainly Brown Bear through mine, and have also tried Wolf. I'm able to get groups of about 1.5 inches at 50 yards using a red dot optic. I'm sure I could do better if I really tried or had a magnified optic.

Anything that's cheap, silver bear is what got me my deer today. Wait I won't run lacquer coated wolf ammo, Ever.

Yugo M67.

Didn't have much success with Tula, but I haven't tried Silver bear either.

Most people run the cheap stuff. I run tula from Walmart. I just picked up some lapua M43 and I am going to a range this week to see how accurate my setup is.

Yugo M67 is the best ammo for the cheapest price last I looked, it's brass but it's corrosive. For non-corrosive steel fun I like Silver Bear, but it's harder to find than Wolf.

How do you clean your AR after shooting corrosive ammo?

After shooting M67, I shoot some non corrosive through it then clean it when I feel like it.  This is not foolproof, just my lazy way.

I have had great results with this:HERE. I was not expecting the level of accuracy I am getting with this ammo out of my 16" AR Performance barrel. my 3 round groups are about .70" and just about 2" for a 10 round group both at 100 yards. To say that I love this AR is an understatement.

With warm soapy water the evening after I shoot. Then let it dry and lube it.

I shoot M67, Brown Bear, Ulyanovsk, Wolf,  WPA, etc.

As mentioned above, just some hot soapy water, most of it just gets dumped down the barrel, then a squeeze bottle to get the gas tube and inside the receiver. Wait til its dry then relube it, and you're done. Every now and then I'll run a swab & brush down the barrel too.
