I am looking for any information on the HESSE HAR-25 308 AR style rifle.  They stopped making these approximately 3 years ago.  A friend recently purchased a lower, upper, bolt, carrier, and front take down pin as a set.  They are all Hesse manufactured and now he wants to complete the build.  Any HELPFUL  information is greatly appreciated.  Specifically, what parts are required to complete the build?  Are there any Hesse proprietary parts?  Will any 308 AR barrel work for the build?

I agree, it pays to do your homework first rather than ask questions after the purchase.  Your friend just wasted his money.  Sell it for scrap and get something of a little (a lot) better quality.  I doubt you will find any Armalite, Eagle Arms, Bushmaster, or DPMS parts that will fit the Hesse.

I am sure you won't think these responses are helpful but with more exposure to quality AR rifles and parts you will learn that you have already received the best advice, get something else and cut your losses now.  There is a reason they went out of business or changed their name or whatever.
