I'm planning on putting a 20" barrel with a front sight on my first build.  It is a flattop and I will be putting a scope on it for load development and some longer range shooting.  My question is:  Will I be able to see my target clearly or will the front sight make it fuzzy?   Is there a mount that will get the scope up high enough to not cause a problem?  I see photo's of rifle with this set-up in the Varmint section here but I can't tell exactly how much if any higher the center of the scope is than the front sight.

And, the reason I'm doing it this way for now is I can only afford one rifle and I want to use iron sights most of the time while I'm learning more about shooting an AR.  I also might shoot in some local matches later if I get good enough.

On a 20" AR the front sight will disappear at roughly 2.75 to 3x.  You won't know it's there.

Yep
Even basically disappears with a 3x magnifier

Technically reduces the amount of light coming in to the scope, but it doesn't really affect anything
