I've been working, along with the folks at Primary Arms and Trijicon, for over a year to make an idea I had while using the original TA44 years ago happen.    IMO, the most limiting factor with the original TA44 is the reticle; at distance it was very difficult to engage targets quickly but the new ACSS version fixes that.    In my review below I state that I'd only taken mine out to 330/350 yards but last week I had a chance to shoot it at 500 and it was spot on there as well.

Pros:
-lightweight
-durable
-uber clear glass
-reticle greatly increases capability of the optic
-common mounts available
-free shipping and a free mount when you use the links in the video description
-red and green reticles available currently
-high and low (for AKs, ARX100s, etc...) mounting options available
-folks with astigmatism won't have issues with it like they do with red dots

Cons:
-cost

Have you tried this on your ARX yet?
Been thinking of getting the low version for mine.
Oh, any reason why PA is only offering the free mount with the standard height version?

Haven't used it on an ARX.

If you use the links in the video description there should be free mounts with low as well.   If not let me know.

What's old is new again.

I had an old school ACOG once upon a time... might be worth a look.

Up to you.

As referenced earlier; at 500 yards:

I swore I'd never buy another ACOG due to reticle grey out washout issues but damn this one temps me.

Love the reticle design

It would be about the perfect carbine optic if it had a battery powered reticle

Is the reticle the same size as the other TA44 with the circle dot?
How forgiving is the eye relief, and can you run it further forward like a dot?

Damn, and I had just bought a TA44 a few months ago! I wonder if trijicon could swap out the reticle?

With the ACS, what do the two lower dots correspond to, if the tip of the triangle is zero?

It's not.

Eye relief is 2.4'' but you can push it further out and still use it; the distance will vary by head position and user.

Honestly it may not be possible with the 44 body.  Maybe on the 45 but they need room to run the electronics...

It would be interesting to see Vortex & Primary Arms enter into a joint venture like PA has with Trijicon

IIRC correctly some of their stuff is made in the same factories as PA?

I LOVE my TA44.  If they put that reticle in a TA33 I'm breaking out the VISA.

Nice. Mine showed up last night

The one I ordered once they were available was the low mount.   This thing is just sweet on an AK with the RS mount!

PA told me in an e-mail that the low mount version would not work with the offered AD mount.
I know the pics above are not of the AD mount, but do you know if the mount is usable or not?
Seems like the person that gave me the answer may of made a mistake.

I've done a little research - (These are estimations, I do not have the scope or mounts yet)

AR Height base scope + ADM mount - sits approximately lower 1/3 cowitness

AR Height base scope + Midwest industries mount - sits higher than lower 1/3 cowitness (Also looks too high in pics)

Low-Base scope + ADM mount - sits lower than absolute cowitness (barely clears rear BUIS)

Low-Base scope + Midwest industries mount - sits approximately lower 1/3 cowitness (Verified by midwest industries customer support)
