Uhhh, if they wanted to dress up an AR to look like a P-90, and wanted armor piercing, why not just use a P-90..?
You know, the PDW that inherently HAS armor piercing capability... |

Quoted: I watched the movie a few days ago and was thinking the same thing. Why even bother sending guys with 5.56 rounds that don't do anything to armored aliens when they obviously needed grenade launchers and 50 cals. to stop them? What about the people making almost literally unusable M231 clones, are they "barbieing-up a firearm into a unusable piece of junk" as well? It still shoots a bullet out fast enough to poke a hole in something and it can be aimed. |

Keep that thumbhole stuff off your AR. Thank You. Common sense sinking in... Fuck that, im building one in 300blk, cause a 8" barrel in 5.56 is just retarded. I was looking up the stock and foregrip as soon as I saw them in the movie, and looked up the gun specs in the movie gun database. I think it would be an excellent candidate for a rare breed trigger as well, since I never saw them shoot semi in the movie. |

Calling Hera ‘airsoft grade’ is an insult to airsoft.
I had the Hera front grip. Didn’t care much for the feel and my aluminum pic rail cut thru the plastic til it cracked after a very short lifespan. I didn’t cry when it wound up in the trash. It did look good with my D60. Some of those ARs from the movie looked like they were sporting Magpul PRS stocks. If you’re gonna clone, I’d grab that instead. And am I the only one who watched that movie and wondered why they went to all that trouble to create a ‘toxin’ only to use it maybe a half dozen times and then kill the other 999 aliens with ‘conventional’ weapons? Shoulda skipped the Time Machine and just bought a Barrett... |

I never understand why people that have never handled a thing can hate it so much
I'm building one of these and it's a great platform The stock and grip is no better or worse than any polymer furniture The safety is bit awkward but not as bad as some of the factory set ups out there such as the AK and Mossberg shot guns BTW – The drafted soldiers didn’t get a lot of training and carried light arms in the movie because according to the original screen play, 90% of them were injected with toxin that killed the males that ate them, which in turn made them toxic to the males that ate them and so Humans were the first part of a baiting process that failed Eventually this aspect of the story was drop because the suits didn’t like the idea of humans using other humans as bait |

I also remember a time when the majority of the AR community thought AR pistols were stupid
Or when they thought setting up an AR for any caliber other then 5.56 was stupid As I do more reserch about the Hera CQR stock and grip I keep finding simular set ups offered by other companies Who knows, someday there might be a AR-CQR sub forum here |
|
well, I should have know a thread in ARF would go this way. I haven't given the build any more thought because I had too many other builds going on, but I just about finished them.
Catching up on the thread, the idea of a Tomorrow War pistol caliber clone popped into my head. I still don't know why the CQR stock is so appealing to me? Just the looks, not the practicality. Looks play a role in the reasoning behind damn near all my guns. I don't have many ugly guns... And sometimes a gun will grow on me. I will overlook guns for a long time, then one day they will just appeal to me and I want one. Its part of my sickness I know |

I did a build with the HERA furniture and I was less than impressed. So, I sold it off to my brother before he had a chance to shoot it Once you get past the silliness of the Rifle, in the movie setting, it's a pretty cool looking build.
