If a guy was going to have a gunsmith cut threads so you could install a flash suppressor what would he have to cut? Is there certain thread size or number.

I believe it's 1/2x28 tpi

Yes, it's 1/2 x 28 superfine. I had to special order my taps and dies, nobody carries them.

Brownells carries them.  I'm having mine threaded for LE use and all the company that's threading it for me wanted as payment was I buy the dies.  But I keep them when they are done.

Basically they are threading it for free as long as I bought the dies.
