My dad gave them to me yesterday when I bought an M4. Two of these were his when he was in the Corps in the late 70's. One of them the guy gave me at the gunshop, not sure of it's age. They are:

1 Genuine Colt (dad's)
1 Okay Industries
1 Adventure Line Mfg (dad's)

I plan on putting some new Wolff springs and green followers in just because they are so old. Is the Okay one a good mag? I assume the others to be because he actually used them before. I'm so new to AR's its not funny, anyone have any opinions? Thanks.

Okay is also a USGI mag. All three are good(especially for free) but I would replace the spring and add a green follower, like you said.

All 3 are great mags. I would replace the followers with greens (it's real easy). Then before you replace the springs, i would run them fully loaded and see if you have any FTF or FTE or drop free. Then go from there with spring replacement.

scoke.

Looks like you got the good mag pouch as well. (Three snapped flaps under the main flap)

Total crap.

Send them to me, I'll ship you a Lincoln ($5) as a consolation prize.  [:d]

Excellent, thanks a lot guys. I took it down to the range tonight and fired all three mags fully loaded. We went through about 100 rounds tonight and not a single failure of any kind. Pretty good :)

You've got a good dad. I was in the Marines at about the same time (76-80) and the mags I got at that time still function just fine.
