I just ordered my RRA lower for $94 shipped and the Oly Arms 20" PCR kit that's on sale right now.  Can't wait to get them, it will be my first build.  And first AR.  Just need to pick up a couple of clips(usgi only) and a case of ammo.  Should be a good time.  Thanks for all the info, you've all made this much easier.

Congrats, and good luck.  You will soom be assimilated [:D].  However, you will soon see a proportional increase in AR parts/accessories accompanied by a likewise proportional decrease in thickness/value of your wallet.  BTW, magazines feed the weapon, clips feed the mag.  Stick to Winchester Q3131a or LC XM193 for good ammo.

Just built my first AR as well.

I really like it. I went with SA80 mags and 1K of LC XM193.

Now I need more mags and ammo and of course, a carbine, and ...

Loose the term "clips" from your AR vocabulary.  It hurts my ears.

AR's use magazines or "mags".

Hopefully you can be more patient than I was! The suspense can be excruciating when you can't wait for something to show up. I just finished my first build (first AR) yesterday, and have no time to shoot it yet. Once it arrives, just take your time in the assembly of the lower and everything will go smoothly. I just picked up my 3rd, 30rd British mag today and some more ammo. So when I do find the time to hit the range, I'll be ready. Good luck! J
