-gonna buy my first ar in the next few months
-I want a DDM4 V5
-I know they are top notch, but I will be ordering online and doing to FFL through my lgs, not crazy about hoping a $1600 dollar doesn't get damaged through shipping
-I am joining the army, and i'll have the rest of the money for it after basic training. how long will it take DD to ship the rifle to me? (im in PA) btw the ar will stay with family, and i'll only have a 10 day leave. do you think i'll get it in time to shoot it?

thank you

I dont think you will get it in time to shoot, but who knows.

As for damage through shipping, I highly doubt it will get damaged at all and DD is top notch with very good customer service.

I have thier factory lower and it is imo the best "milspec" lower out there with a above average  "milspec" trigger.

Just picked up a v5 LW myself. Love it so far.

I can't imagine it getting damaged in shipping, comes in an enclosed case with padding.

From what I hear, their CS is top notch. I would shoot them a call or email and they can probably give you a better timeline.

I ordered a custom rifle from DD last year at this time and it was in my hands within 3 weeks.  Of course that was during the peak of the panic and I was lucky enough to get my rifle order in before the website got bogged down.

does it make s difference if they have it in stock now? I wont be buying until 14 weeks and a blue infantry chord later

I ordered directly fromDaniel Defense about a year ago. At the time, I lived right around the corner from them  in Savannah, Ga. Still had to be shipped to an FFL. Comes in a hard case so I can't imagine any damage. Took about 3-4 weeks to get mine but it was a custom build. If they have it in stock, it should ship much faster. Good luck, you are getting a great rifle.

If you are not set on ordering from the Factory. You may be able to find one online. I just bought a V7
from Gunbroker for $1150 plus shipping.

I think id like to deal with DD directly unless I can see it in person.
for me, $1600 is a lot on a rifle (I know DD is top notch, and its a tool that will last, but if there were a problem id prefer to deal with them directly).

DD will take care of you no matter where you get the gun and even if it is used, so there is no reason to not get a cheaper one if you see it in person or online from a good dealer with good feedback.

Contacted DD and and ask for the screw diameter for the omega X rail and she said she didn't know but would find out, took down my info and a week later I had not 1 but 2 sets of screws for free from DD. I will never buy or recommend any other rifle. It shoots amazing and is backed by a great CS. I personally think its a no brainer

DD has the best customer service in the entire industry.

The fact that they put out amongst the very best rifles as well makes them a no hesitation purchase.

annnnnnnd i'm out, lol.
I'm pretty much made up on a mk18 and sr15. but they have to wait. i'm getting another M16 RR before they go up in price any more.
besides, i just ordered like 600$ in shit from PSA and if it ever comes in, i'll have my hands full for a while.

eta: the uppers are all that matters. I can't see the price premium for the lowers from dd and kac. especially with the excise tax included.
besides, i like the geiselle triggers more anyway

Again, call/email them and ask what their lead/build time is. Nobody can answer how long it will take as things change. Not to mention if you're not ordering for a bit it is kind of worthless to know at this moment.

If you're on a timeline and you're ordering a standard build, just order through a reputable dealer. Western Sport, Primary Arms etc. You'll most likely save 25% ($400) AND get it faster. It's a no brainer to me.

you should have purchased from budsgunshop.com.  you can pick up a V5 for $1300.  I picked up a m4a1 socom for $1500 to include shipping.

I paid $1189 shipped for a v5 LW through Western Sport and got it within a week.
