I went to the range the other day & on my first shot with my AR the stock just unlocked & went to the more "compact" position due to the kick. I would extend it, shoot it & it would do it again. I tried to tighten it, but no cigar. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

If its a no-name generic stock, DUMP IT NOW, and get a quality stock from a reputable manufacturer.

I would assume all you need is a stronger spring in the lever assembly. Dump the parts and check to see what size the spring is, replace it with something stronger, and keep shooting. No use to get rid of it for just that problem.
